Thank you for your interest in submitting content for The Zeta Torch: SC Pipeline!  Below, you will find information on suggested article topics, deadlines, how to submit articles and the form used to accept submissions.

What is the The Zeta Torch: SC Pipeline? 

The Zeta Torch: SC Pipeline is the bi-monthly state newsletter. It provides an in-depth look at the accomplishments and service of chapters and our auxiliaries. There are two sections that chapters/auxiliaries, state coordinators, and/or state committee chairs may submit to:

Torches Around the State: highlight a major promotion, accolades within chapter, community, university, etc.

What’s happening in the state: events, videos, service projects, etc.

​

This newsletter also includes relevant information from our state director and regional/international leadership.
Please keep all submissions between 200-400 words. Submissions due by the 20th of every month to Soror Jeeter at scantapok
ritis@gmail.com. The Zeta Torch: SC Pipeline will be released on the 1st Wednesday of every other month. 

​

Deadlines to submit your information: 

For December/January Edition: Submissions are due by November 20th.

For April/May Edition: Submissions are due by March 20th.

For June Edition: Submissions are due by April 20th.

Who can submit:

Chapter presidents or their designees, state coordinators, and or state committee chairs. If you are in a chapter and would like to write an article, please contact your chapter president or their designee to ensure that your article gets submitted.

What to submit

The Zeta Torch: SC Pipeline seeks to showcase the best across the sisterhood, so we encourage chapters and auxiliaries to showcase the best representation of our principles – Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood and Finer Womanhood. Submissions should be unique, dynamic and be accompanied by photography that shows the subjects in action.

Partnerships

We are looking to highlight the best in partnerships and collaborations. Whether it’s a unique partnership with our brothers of Phi Beta Sigma or another local non-profit, we want to see it.

​

New Member Presentations

Introduced new members to your chapter? Submit your photos, including the names of each new member, to be featured. 

​

Health Justice

The Grand Basileus has declared 2023 as Zeta’s Year of the International Woman. If your chapter or auxiliary has hosted or sponsored programs that speaks to health initiatives for women domestically and abroad, we’d like to see those stories.

​

Policy

The editorial staff makes every attempt to include as many submissions as possible and reviews all submissions. Selections remain solely at the staff discretion.​

​

Article Guidelines

  • Submissions should be between 200 and 400 words, single-spaced and sent via the form listed below. If longer content is submitted, the editors reserve the right to truncate or edit content down to fit the standard length. If you have a lot of information to convey, we recommend submitting a short summary and linking to a longer article or post on your site, which also helps drive traffic to your site.

  • Please submit your article in word (.doc or .docx) or pdf format only. Articles may be submitted via Word documents or Google Docs links. If submitting more than one article at a time, multiple articles may be included in the same Word file or Google Doc or uploaded individually.

  • Author/writer of the article is required.

  • Your article submission must have a headline.

  • 2-5 photos with captions are included (identify people in photos from left to right, if possible).

  • Photo credit of photographer, if applicable

  • Undergraduate chapters should include the Chapter Name and College/University 

 

Photo Guidelines

Images should be high resolution (300+dpi) and in color. Please save all images for consideration in .jpg file format and include a detailed caption outlining individuals depicted in the photos. Please include your name, email address, phone number and chapter/auxiliary affiliation with all submissions.

​

Please ensure that all uploaded photos have captions. Please take note of the name/number of the photos you’re submitting, as all submitted photos must be named, and captions must include the name of the photo. There is a submission field on the form that allows for photo captions to be written or copied/ pasted in. Please follow this captions guide:
