HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER 
ZETA PHI BETA SORORITY, INCORPORATED

Although membership in Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, is by invitation only, we encourage interested women with a track record of community service and currently pursuing a baccalaureate degree or in possession of a baccalaureate degree to contact a chapter in your local area for more information. The required way to show formal interest in membership is attending an Informational Interest Meeting hosted by Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. You are welcome to bring a resume. Attendance at the Informational Interest Meeting does not guarantee that an invitation to membership will be extended.

 

It is expected that individuals who are invited to membership in Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, have demonstrated a commitment to scholarship, service, sisterhood, and finer womanhood. If you are considering membership, we encourage you to become familiar with Zeta’s Policy Against Hazing. You are never required to participate in hazing activities to become a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. In fact, members of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated and women who are interested in membership are prohibited from engaging in conduct that violates the Policy Against Hazing.

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated does not condone the use of force or hazing in its Membership Intake Process.

  • Bachelor’s level degree conferred from a four-year college or university that meets the sorority’s accreditation standards

  • If applying within three (3) years after graduating with a bachelor’s degree, must have either earned at least a 2.75 grade point average on a 4.0 scale for the bachelor’s level degree or earned an advanced degree such as a master’s or professional degree.

  • Undergraduate transcript must be provided to confirm eligibility for membership in a graduate chapter regardless of whether any advanced degrees have been earned.

  • Currently enrolled at a four-year college or university that meets the sorority’s accreditation standards

  • Has earned at least a 2.75 grade point average on a 4.0 scale, or the grade point average required on the campus, whichever is higher

  • Must have earned at least twelve (12) credit hours at the college or university where membership is being sought

  • All undergraduate members are required to maintain a 2.75 on a 4.0 scale grade point average after membership intake into the sorority

Zeta women develop leadership skills by attending seminars, holding officer and committee positions within the chapter; and serving as a role models for the Sorority’s youth affiliates.

Membership in Zeta Phi Beta Sorority is a living and learning experience for women with shared values and objectives. You will have the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of activities where you can use your unique talents and knowledge to contribute to the chapter and your community.

Zeta Phi Beta encourages young women to learn and grow in the spirit of sisterly love and friendship; during college years and beyond.

Reclamation: The Time Is Now!

Our theme for this year is “Reclamation……The Time is Now!” We understand that ‘Life Happens’, and unfortunately may cause Sorors to have to depart for a short while from our beloved Sisterhood. However, we believe that our love for you along with your love for our illustrious organization is key to your return! And no matter how long you have been gone, ‘The Time is Now” for you to come back home!

RECLAMATION STEPS

  • Locate and/or contact a chapter in your area.

  • Obtain the Chapter Certification of Membership and Good Standing card from your previous chapter, or complete the Notarized Self Certification of Membership and Good Standing and obtain a verification letter from the Regional Director of the region you were last active in.

  • The chapter will provide the link to the reclamation portal where you may submit your information for verification and approval. Please be sure you have identified the chapter in which you wish to reclaim.

  • Once you have received approval from International Headquarters, you will be provided a link to pay international, regional, and state (if applicable) dues in the Member Services Portal.

  • Pay local dues to your chapter of reclamation.
