SOUTH CAROLINA STATE LEADERSHIP 1946-PRESENT

The State of South Carolina is part of the Southeastern Region along with Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and the US Virgin Islands.

 

  • Claiborne Carter* served from 1946 -1959 as the first Associate Director of South Carolina. 

  • Alberta T. Stevenson* served from 1959-1965 as the South Carolina Associate Director.

  • Elizabeth M. Rose served from 1969 to 1972 as the South Carolina State Director.

  • Henrietta Floyd Massey* was appointed to complete the term of Elizabeth M. Rose. She served from 1972 to 1974 as the South Carolina State Director.

  • Associate Directors were established to expand Chapter membership and community service. The title was later changed to State Director.

  • Macon Gardner was the first to carry the title, “State Director.”  She served from 1974 to 1984.

  • Barbara C. Moore, the 22nd International Grand Basileus, served from 1986 to 1992 as the South Carolina State Director.

  • Claire Floyd Porter served from 1992 to 1996 as the South Carolina State Director.

  • Scarlet H. Black served from 1996-2002 as the South Carolina State Director.

  • Marion M. Gary served from 2002-2008 as the South Carolina State Director.

  • Gianna S. Gardner served from 2008-2014 as the South Carolina State Director.

  • Latorsha M. Murray served from 2014-2018 as the South Carolina State Director.

  • Maxine Moses-Adams is currently serving as the South Carolina State Director from 2018 to present.
